{Saturday Coffee & Net Talk}
We can tell: you're slowly but surely getting a hankering for spring and summer knitwear! But how could it be otherwise, as the sun has been at its best this week. And even if it's going to be a bit cooler again in the coming days, we're not going to let the fun of short sleeves and lighter yarns get in the way!
Good morning for your Saturday coffee! Here are some airy design ideas today, but also one or two designs that won't make you shiver. I've also brought along some maschenfein whispers - you can look forward to the first event! So make yourselves comfortable and have fun reading!
First of all: Thank you!
But before we really get started, I have to say thank you! You received this year's Mother's Day shawl Romy with such enthusiasm that we are still totally blown away! We had made good provisions in the warehouse from the outset, but your rush was so great that we had to reorder again and again. Amazing - many, many thanks for that!
There are currently no signs that we will soon be running out of yarn - so each of you should receive your desired color. Your favorites in Como Cashmere by Lamana: silk grey, cherry blossom and sage.
We are now looking forward like crazy to the Knit-Along, which starts next Friday, April 11. You will then receive the update of the pattern in your customer account, by email or via Ravelry. Please be patient if necessary: due to the volume, we will be sending the emails in packages. In the course of the day, however, everyone will receive the complete pattern. And you can join in later anyway!

The time for short sleeves is upon us

I have chosen the color marble for my Mother's Day shawl - the balls of yarn are ready and together with you I want to start knitting in just under a week! Knowing me, I will of course be dreaming of new knitting projects in the meantime. Better safe than sorry!
And because the weather has been so beautiful this week, lots of lovely short-sleeved designs have made their way onto my knitting list. I really like the Cozysummertee from Atelier VH, for example.
You can knit the simple shirt in stripes or in a single color top down (if you don't like stripes, simply select the same color twice in the knitting set). The design's deep raglan ensures a loose, casual fit.
You can either knit the sleeves in a puffed version or straight. I also really like the narrow facings, which are worked in an interlocked rib pattern. As in the original, you knit with Line - one of our most popular summer yarns.

New from Other Loops and Anne Ventzel

I'm also very impressed by the Lacey Loop Tee - the new design from Other Loops. Perforated patterns have been very trendy again for some time now and even if it's all a matter of taste in the end: I really, really like the shirt with the dropped shoulders!
This is knitted with two strands of silk in the form of Pure Silk from Knitting for Olive. The yarn is animal-friendly: the silk is only collected when the caterpillar has already left the cocoon.
You work the shirt from the top down, short rows ensure a nice fit. At the beginning, work in rows before closing the project under the arms to form a round. You can also lengthen the Lacey Loop Tee - just keep in mind that you will need more material.
The Grape Tee by Anne Ventzel is a little warmer in terms of material composition. You knit the main color in two strands with Tynn Line and Alpakka Følgetråd from Sandnes, the contrasting color in one skein with Line. And don't worry: the color pattern is worked using slip stitches. So you only use one color at a time.
Here, too, you knit seamlessly from the top down. Shape the neck with short rows. Work in the round until the entire shoulder width is reached. Then divide the work into front and back and work in rows. Below the arms, the two parts are joined together again and the body is worked in the round. You knit the sleeves directly in the round.

Long sleeves and warmer materials for the transition
If you prefer long-sleeved projects or want something a little warmer - no problem! I've brought you three more new items from the store.
For example, there is the Scarlet Sweater from PetiteKnit, which you knit from the top down from Double Sunday by Sandnes. On the front and back, as well as on the sides and the insides of the sleeves, the stitches are lifted to create a special stitch line. A small but nice idea that creates a beautiful accent.
The Truudi Vestover by Rosa P. is a lovely, cozy pullover that can be worn by both men and women. I really like the neckband here. You are knitting with Wool Local Aran by Erika Knight.
My favorite in this series is Serena's Lacesweater by Carolin Balmes. Since I've been working on the Melli mini shawl, I've been using lace patterns and I like the option of knitting the sleeves either long or short. The yarn recommendation is also great: you are working double-ply with Modena from Lamana.
Sweet little things for the spring table

As you can see, a Mother's Day shawl rarely comes alone - it always brings other ideas with it! If you enjoy crocheting after (or during!) Romy, for example, you should definitely take a look at the crochet set for the cute flowers from Krea Deluxe. Here you crochet with organic cotton from Krea Deluxe.
The pattern are in English. If you don't feel up to it: We have lots of other cute crochet kits from Krea Deluxe - all suitable for Easter. I've written everything down for you in this inspiration and remember: until Easter, you can get the pattern for this section including the German translation from us for free if you buy the yarn from us 🙂
Our first Maschenfein event
After Easter, the first Maschenfein event is also waiting for you! We are already super excited - and hopefully you are too! On May 24, we would like to invite you to the first big Knit & Cinema event at the Astor Film Lounge in Berlin together with Nina from Knitmates.
It starts at 10.30 am. Then we'll be kicking off a great morning with knitting, a movie and competitions. We are still finalizing the details, but you can already put your name on the waiting list for tickets on this page. And don't be disappointed if Berlin is too far away: there are now knitting cinema screenings in many cities and perhaps a Maschenfein collaboration will also be available in other places in Germany 🙂

A new podcast episode of "Nur noch eine reihe" will also be released next Wednesday. Marisa will be focusing on a fiber that is perfect for summer. Stay tuned and subscribe to our podcast - then you won't miss a thing!
Maschenfein knitting round
You can discover great spring colors in this week's Maschenfein knitting round. Take a look at what I've brought along:

Silvia is looking forward to our Knit-Along and has chosen Como from Lamana for the Romy shawl. The delicate pink shade simply goes perfectly with all the bright flowers in nature.
You can see a finished Audrey Jacket by Cheryl Mokhtari at Anja. The bright blue shade of the Teddy Dear by Gepard makes the design suitable for spring - simply the ideal jacket replacement!
Which knitting project are you using to sweeten your spring? Let me know in a comment. In any case, I wish you a lovely weekend with lots of knitting time!

Dear Silvia,
We've always had a vest with us in the coffee shop over the last few weeks. For example, the Lucky Vest or the Mellow Vest. You can browse through all the vest knitting kits available in the Maschenfein store here: https://www.maschenfein.com/produkt-kategorie/strickkits/art-des-strickstuecks/weste/
Best regards
