April Fool's Day, April Fool's Day... yes, we here at Maschenfein can also sing a little song about that and are therefore once again a little late for Auf den Nadeln. However, since I as a woman Maschenfein the regular series on the needles myself have brought to life and written for years, I can at this point just admit to myself: I was rarely really "on time" in the blog with the needles!

But why I've always stuck to this form of my/our knitting journal, despite the time pressure I feel every month, is that wonderful feeling of reading an older post and realizing that a project mentioned there t-a-t-s-ä-c-h-l-i-c-h has also made it off the needles. That's what happened with my blue My Black V, which was still on the needles at my house last month. The fact that it hasn't yet made it into the sink and onto the tensioning mats can safely go unmentioned here. After all, it's not called From the tensioning mats April, is it?

Bobbie, Salma, Louie and Jonah...

... could all be school friends of our children, but actually denote our current projects. Bobbie was great love at first sight with Sandra and Jule and quickly they had team bobbie-fied. 17 gray hairs later (don't ask), the larger reorder Willet, from which Bobbie is knitted in the original, was also finally through customs and arrived at the warehouse. So the beautiful summer sweater could hop meanwhile already four times on the needles. Namely at Louisa, Sandra, Jule and Ruth for me or our fine stitch shop window.

Louisa was directly bobbie-fied when she joined our Maschenfein team. After all, in for a penny is in for a pound. She knits the sweater in the green shades "Dinghy" and "Land".

What do you do when you're asked to join a little KAL on your very first day at your new job? You don't think twice and say YES! But "Bobbie" by Pam Allen has also been on my to-knit list (which you could almost call a to-knit book) for quite some time. So I couldn't help myself. And I have to say it's worth it. I don't think I've ever had such a soft 100% cotton yarn on my needles. I can see myself now: summer, the hot day slowly turning into a pleasantly cool evening, and I can put Bobbie over one of my beloved summer dresses. It will be perfect!

Sandra fulfills her long-held dream of a blue Bobbie. Bobbie Blue. Of course, her Bobbie will be jumping into the warm water shortly. After all, she has a reputation to lose.

The end is in sight, which motivates me very much with my BOBBIE sweater after a tutorial by Pam Allen from Willet of Quince &Co. The trip to Sleeve Island is only a short visit here, not bad either! The pure cotton yarn is buttery soft, the knitting from the bottom up, however, rather not my thing ... but the result certainly rewards!

Every Bobbie needs a Salma, too. Especially in April, the most active month of our Mother's Day Shawl Knit Alongs. Of course, we all have or had a Salma on our needles. Arlene knits Salma in the colors 330-White, 697-Camel, 700-Cabbage, 300-Pale-Blush and 302-Cinnamon. By the way, if you need a little video support for picking up stitches from the borders, you'll find it here on our YouTube channel.

Because I am the type snail's pace and want the Mother's Day shawl on time finished, washed and stretched, I have this month only Salma on the needles and the rest sent to the basket. Since we are the first week of vacation in Morocco - without knitting needles (are not allowed as pointed objects in hand luggage) I will probably have to tighten my knitting speed after the vacation.

At Jule joins Salma and Bobbie still Louie, a sweet, quick project for the smallest. Be sure to check it out, my heart has just made a little jump directly, I'm just afraid even my smallest Fräulein has grown out of the largest size in the meantime. The yarn Line should finally come back in at the end of April, but maybe you will also find among the currently still available colors.

I'm knitting the Louie Romper from Sandnes booklet 2106 for friends' baby. In Line it goes quite quickly and this is a nice baby gift for the summer. If he comes hopefully soon.

The April weather makes me waver between summer knitting and cap fever. So we in Berlin here have also been able to experience everything in the past few days: Spring temperatures and a slight hint of snowflakes (honestly, we've seen a few shallow flakes!).

I knit the hat Jonah from the latest LAMANA magazine in the original color carmine. It is knitted only two balls on 4.5mm needles (is knitting a little looser and have resorted to the 4 needle). A ruckizucki project for in between.

With me arises grad geringeltes from BC Shetland. And since I only knit with 2.5 needles, it will also take a little while ... Nevertheless, I would like to know very much, what is the great sweater on your lead picture! So not the one 'on the needles', dear Marisa, but the dressed one. That would be a very tempting follow-up model for me 🙂

As always, thank you for your inspirations!

I started with the Osaka shawl because I want to work maschenfein leftover skeins from a previous project, plus two colors of kidmohair from a decades-old stash.

Good evening I would like to knit si a light blue v-neck sweater like gans at the beginning of the blog. Could you tell me where I can find this tutorial and if I can buy the wool from you?
Would be very happy to receive a reply from you.
Kind regards from Switzerland
