Description
LAMANA - Milano
MILANO is a two-ply twisted SUPERLIGHTyarn made from superfine 18.5 micron Merino wool and 10% cashmere in fingering weight. The carded yarn with a running length of 180m on only 25g gets its unique lightness through an innovative production method and the temperature-regulating and breathable characteristics of merino wool are positively supported. The addition of cashmere makes the feel a touch softer and reinforces the light wool fluff, which gives the yarn its elegant, silky-matt surface.
The luxurious blend of Merino Superfine and cashmere is particularly versatile in this yarn weight. Knitted on its own, it is great for delicate shawls and incomparably soft and light garments and accessories all year round. When double-knitted, MILANO is a DK weight, making it a good choice for a wide range of designs that are warm and cozy for the colder months.
MILANO is not superwash treated, but it can be machine washed perfectly in the wool program. The wool then blossoms again and becomes noticeably softer, fluffier and the knitting pattern is even denser.
For an extra portion of fluffiness and even more softness, MILANO can be knitted wonderfully with the super kid mohair yarn PREMIA, but COMO, MODENA and our alpaca yarns PIURA and CUSI are also perfect for combinations.
Responsibility
We source the mulesing-free merino raw wool for MILANO from selected sheep farms in Australia, while the cashmere raw wool used comes from Mongolia and China. The spun raw wool is certified in terms of animal welfare, sustainability and social responsibility and we have it spun in Italy by a family-run traditional company and dyed in accordance with the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 for baby products.
